THE INCA HIT A STRONG GALE OFF SMOKY HEAD, 207 MILES NORTH OF SYDNEY.
CAPTAIN AND DONKEYMAN STAYED ONBOARD. THE REST OF THE CREW WITH THE CAPTAINS WIFE AND 10TH MONTH OLD BABY WERE PLACED IN THE LIFE BOAT. THESE WERE PICKED UP BY THE SHIP WEST HOLBROOK WHICH HAD DEPARTED FROM SYDNEY. THE INCA ALONG WITH THE CAPTAIN AND DONKEYMAN WERE TOWED INTO SYDNEY BY THE SHIP COSMOS.
