RABARDY, MASTER, BURTHEN 375 TONS FROM THE PORT OF LIKI LIKI, TO SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES, 27TH DEC. 1880Liki Liki is in New Ireland, an island to the East of mainland Papua New Guinea. The GENIL was employed from March 1880 to transport colonists, mostly French, and workers to New Ireland in an ill-fated attempt to colonise the island. The venture failed and by February 1882, the colonists were repatriated to Sydney. |
